What is a tea tray?
The centerpiece of the traditional Chinese Gongfu tea-making experience, a tea tray not only holds all your tea equipment, but also catches spill water and serves as a home for your tea pets.
Beyond its direct use making tea, tea trays also create a welcoming atmosphere for guests, inviting one and all to sit around the tray, enjoy tea and each others' company, stimulating conversation and enhancing the tea experience.
About This Tray
Made of heavy bamboo, this set is designed to resist warping from heat and cold. Inlaid in the middle is a disc of gold-colored metal alloy, displaying a beautiful circles-within-circles design.
The tray comes in three parts - a top tray of ridged heavy bamboo, the metal disc insert, and a bottom of fused bamboo and dense plastic. When the tea session is done, the top tray and metal circle can be removed to dispose of spill water and makes for easy cleaning.
This tray comes in two sizes, small and large. The small sized-table is a good fit for 2-4 guests, the medium for 2-6 guests. Both sizes are light for their size while having a denser outer ring for stability and heft.
