Jesse Says:
Red Jade is the bomb. It's one of my favorite Taiwanese teas and the Sun Moon Lake stuff in particular is the sort of thing I always get a bit of to bring back for the private stash. Make sure to enjoy the scent from the first steep, it's special!
OG fans of the Teahouse will remember we used to have a Red Jade tea on the shop back in 2022. I really liked that tea, but since I sourced that tea during COVID, when I couldn't travel and get my tea straight from the farms, it meant that I needed to feature a tea from a friend of mine's shop and meant the price was quite high and inaccessible for many tea drinkers.
Now, we have our own sourcing operation in China and are able to get the teas directly from local farmers. This means even higher quality at a better price, as well as allowing me to pack the tea into these 60g tins - bringing down the sticker price from before where people needed to buy 100g or even more.

Jesse believes the key to making good tea is to help his Chinese tea friends share not just their best teas, but the best ways to make the teas.
That's why each box comes also comes with an info card that tells you:
- Tea Origin
- Steep Temperature
- Steep Time
- Directions for both teapot steeping and gaiwan steeping
All Jesse’s Teahouse Tea Friends (that’s you now!) also get access to private YouTube videos where Jesse and his Chinese tea friends show you how to make the teas and explain the tea-making process.
The links are on QR codes on the back of the info card included in the tea box.
In Chinese Gongfu Tea Tradition, Tea Pets accompany you at teatime and you "raise" them by feeding them tea! Don't forget to check the tea pet page before you go!
