Tea #1: DuiDui's 2010 Reserve Aged Cooked Pu'er

Dark, Sweet, Smooth

My friend Duidui has been running his ancient tree tea farm in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan for over 20 years. Every year, he reserves some of the crop for later... and we've got some of the 2010 crop for you!

This tea is very dark, sweet and rich, with the traditional leathery, earthy cooked pu'er vibes balanced by exceptional smoothness and a sweet jujube aftertaste. It's one of the best cooked pu'ers I've had and possibly the best I've had at this price range.

This tea is great for coffee drinkers, or people who don't like tea that is just "flavored water." It's got great intensity without being bitter, will make well over 10 steeps per session, and is great for sipping.

Tea #2: Yangchun Snow Jasmine

It seems crazy we're on the fifth subscription box and I haven't shared a classic jasmine yet, but I was always on the lookout and we finally have our winner!

This Yangchun snow jasmine is exactly what Jasmine lovers are waiting for: smooth, sweet, easy-drinking, and, of course, delightfully floral.

This jasmine is tea is made by the time-consuming traditional process called "Aromatization." Farmers lay jasmine flowers on green tea and aromatize the tea with the natural flower scent which emits from the flowers at nighttime. Each night for four nights, the used flowers are swapped for fresh ones.

The result is Jasmine tea with gorgeous jasmine scent, but also jasmine flavor, which inundates the tea even in the middle and late steeps. This is unlike many Jasmine teas in the West which are sprayed with scented oil to smell good when dry but lose fragrance when steeped.

Tea #3: 2017 White Dew White Tea

I'm a white tea guy for sure, and I never pass up a chance to try new Fuding white teas. This White Dew White Tea is exactly what I like - aged six years to bring out herbal flavor, the mix of herbal depth and white tea sweetness are a big hit.

These leaves are beautiful, covered in tiny white hairs and with signs of slightly uneven coloring which prove they were aged naturally. They are brittle but large, so making this tea sometimes means overflowing your lidded cup or teapot with the dry leaves, and allowing them to "shrink" as they get wet and settle in together.

Laser etching and archaic calligraphy - very fun combo!

This cycle's tea cup is a big one as well - at 150ml/5 oz., it is great for those super drinkable teas that you can't get enough of.

The smooth white Dehua porcelain is accentuated by a laser etching of a gold horse, with a subtle gold rim and intricate golden decals on the base.

It also features the character for Horse written in lesser seal script, the first standardized form of characters from the Qin Dynasty, used over 2000 years ago.

I just bought a Horse box! When will the next box come?

The Sheep Box will launch on February 1 and will be sent to all subscribers automatically on that date! Remember you can always pause your subscription if you want to skip a cycle.

I want to make a change to my subscription, like adding or subtracting items.

Nope! When you click "Subscribe and Save!" you will get the discount immediately, but will only be charged for today's purchase.
