Tea #1: Sister Ai's Yunnan Rose Shai Hong

Jesse Says:
Yunnan is famous for its tea and roses, and both of those are in this gorgeous mini tea cake.
The tea base is Sister Ai's "Shai Hong" or "Sun-dried Red" tea. The sun-drying creates a sweet and clean flavor that is not heavy and perfect for sipping.
Sister Ai, our tea farmer partner in China, pressed these cakes with petals from Yunnan roses, known as "Red Ink" roses, a type of rose grown specifically for their fragrance.
The result is a unique blending of two of the greatest prides of Yunnan province and a tea which is intensely floral and sweet without being saccharine or overly perfumey.
Tea #2: Taiwanese Four Seasons Oolong

Sweet and Clean Taiwanese Oolong
Four Seasons is a "Qing Xiang Xing" or "Clean and Fragrant Type" oolong. It releases a floral, fresh scent, and is a tea where the fragrance of the tea is one of the highlights of the whole experience.
Oolong teas are partially oxidized, which means they lie between "unoxidized" green teas and "fully oxidized" red teas. The middle ground is like a spectrum, and the Four Seasons and other Clean and Fragrant Type Oolongs are closer to the unoxidized side.
As such, this type of tea tends to have a lighter, "sweet water" flavor, matched with some green freshness similar to a green tea, but with still more depth of flavor than a green. The sweet aftertaste is a sign of good tea quality.
Tea #3: Yunqing's 2013 Chen Xiang Shou Pu'er

Even though it's the pig box, this is the Year of the Snake, and one sliiiiithered into the sub box!
This tea is from my tea guy Yunqing, who since 2012 has been one of my personal tea guys. His knowledge of pu'er is deep and comes from many years of running his own operation in Yunnan and drinking hundreds of pu'er tea cakes.
This 2013 tea is called "Chen Xiang" which translates roughly to "aged fragrance." The clean, deep, earthy scent from cooked pu'er has hints of leather and camphor, and is one of the best parts of this tea.
Smooth with a clean mouth feel, this shou is a nice treat. It has a crispness in the first steeps with a rich, darker, smoother character through the middle steeps.
Both the aging and wet piling processes remove caffeine content from the tea, meaning that shou pu'ers are a good candidate for people who are caffeine sensitive but still want some caffeine. Shou is also a good choice for people who enjoy tea later in the day.
Drinkers who want all the caffeine can drink the first wash steep, which will be lighter in flavor but contain the most caffeine.

How often do the Subscription boxes launch?
A new Subscription box launches and gets shipped once every season (4x year- February 1st, May 1st, August 1st and November 1st, unless otherwise noted). Subscribers automatically get their boxes billed and shipped on that date! Remember you can always pause your subscription if you want to skip a cycle.
Can I buy Shipping Insurance?
No need! The Insurance is included in the price :) *Please note that this does not apply to one time purchases.
I'm International, can I still subscribe?
Absolutely! Please just be aware of your country's customs fees and tariffs as those are not included in the subscription price.
I want to make a change to my subscription, like adding or subtracting items.

Do I need to pay for a year upfront?
Nope! When you click "Subscribe and Save!" you will get the discount immediately, but will only be charged for today's purchase.
New teas will be delivered once every 3 months and you will only be charged when each box ships.
