Jesse’s Teahouse: 2014 Fuding White Tea “Chocolate Bar”

Each box contains:
One 100g Fuding White Tea Bar
(18 serving-squares per bar, about 4 ounces total)

White tea has a bright fragrance similar to green tea, but more body and flavor, especially as the tea opens up. It is clean, crisp, light, and is flavorful without being overpowering.

This Gongmei white tea is grown in Fuding County of Fujian Province in China, known for producing some of the highest quality white tea in the world.

White teas deepen in flavor with age, and this particular Fuding White Tea is from 2014 – already aged and very tasty!

What is a White Tea “Chocolate Bar”?

No, it’s not actually chocolate, or chocolate flavored – it’s simply high quality full-leaf white tea pressed into the shape of a chocolate bar with 18 pieces!

The advantage of the “bar” style is that you get the flavor and quality of a loose leaf tea in a pre-portioned and easy-to-store package. One square = one tea session = 4-8 large-mugs-worth of tea.

Steeping instructions are included along with the tea bar!

Jesse’s Review:

When I first saw this tea, I loved the packaging but wanted to make sure the flavor was good enough to back it up. It definitely was! This is now one of my favorites to take on trips because of how well it packs.

These teas are high quality and can be re-steeped multiple times! Each serving makes between 4-8 big mugs of tea, so at around $.50 a cup, you get top quality Chinese teas at a price that you can enjoy every day.

Jesse's Teahouse started because when Jesse lived in Beijing, he realized the quality and value of the tea directly from the Beijing Tea Market was so much higher than what could be easily found in the States -- and around the world.

Jesse contacted his tea friends in Beijing, they shipped their best teas to him, and he sends them to you. That's it!

Best Deal Alert! If you really love tea and want an even better deal, get this tea as part of Jesse’s “Team Clyde Combo Box.”

Jesse believes the key to making good tea is to help his Chinese tea friends share not just their best teas, but also their advice on how best make the teas.

That's why each box comes also comes with an info card that tells you:

  • Tea Origin
  • Steep Temperature
  • Steep Time
  • Directions for both teapot steeping and gaiwan steeping

There are also links to tea-making videos on QR codes on the back of the info card included in the tea box.
