I’m really excited to be able to stock these in the store. They’re not the quickest and easiest tea-makers out there, but the style is awesome and it looks so cool I keep it in the living room at all times.
Gaiwan tea-making can be tricky for larger groups, but the size of this gaiwan is really more like a large pot. The set is super simple to assemble and nothing beats the look of beautiful tea falling through the hourglass-style siphon!
If you’re looking for a beautiful, unique tea setup that also maintains the Chinese gongfu aesthetic, this is the one you want.

My family quickly became interested in sharing my Tea Journey after hearing about how delicious all the new teas I brewed are. This Hourglass Teamaker is perfect for easily making larger quantities of tea for everyone to enjoy! It was super easy to set up and use - it shipped quickly and was very well protected! Its elegant style is beautiful enough to put on display too. Very pleased with this 'modern interpretation' of gongfu style preparation!
I got my buddy into Chinese teas with this thing. Other gongfu sets I have were just too small for him. I did get this for free using the sites rewards system. But if I had to, I would absolutely buy it again. This is my first one of this type, so I hesitate to dock points for something that might be endemic to the semi-automatics as a whole. Sometimes, leaves get into the steel ball area and make it so the ball can't plug up the hole.
Terrific for making tea, I love the way it works it makes it a lot easier to tune in my brew strength. And it let's the leaves really open up and expand.
Super fun and easy to use. Has been a daily user for me for the past few weeks now and im still excited to use!
